It's here pumpkin festival Sunday, October 14, 2012 in the Renaudies gardens, in Mayenne. Tiny or gigantic, slightly quirky or round, in their natural state or decorated ... pumpkins will once again be the stars of this great event which attracts many visitors every year. For many, this is a good opportunity to come and glean tips and information on this fall squash, the emblem of the famous Halloween party.
This day will also be conducive to the discovery of multiple varieties of cucurbits cultivated in this astonishing place created from scratch by Jean Renault, renowned nurseryman, passionate about gardens and exceptional plants. Hungarian Blue Pumpkin, Jarradhale Squash, Provence Butternut Squash, Eysines Galeux Pumpkin, Butternut Pumpkin, Aladin Turban Giraumon, Polo or Sunburst Patisson, Devil's Claws Coloquintes, Cucumis ... This is something to surprise and arouse the curiosity of young and old alike.
During this day, do not miss in particular:
- The pumpkin market with its 5000 cucurbits who are just waiting to find a taker.
- Cooking demonstrations by Jean-Marc Blanquet who, to change from the eternal pumpkin soup, will offer squash from starter to dessert.
- Vegetable sculptures and children's workshops in particular to learn how to make a beautiful Halloween pumpkin.
